FAQ
Answers to commonly asked questions
Why can you only photograph the Milky Way on specific dates?
Good question! The Earth, Sun and Moon need to align for the best conditions to photograph the night sky. The Earth's position orbiting the sun needs to be aligned with the Milky Way stars. and we call this "The Milky Way Season" This occurs 70~ nights per year at a comfortable hour. It is a small window each year to capture the magnificent night sky.
I do not have a camera, can I join?
Yes of course! I have spare cameras and lens if you to capture beautiful photographs on the Masterclass.
How do we book?
Bookings can be made by filling in the form above. There are limited spots available on the night so be sure to book as soon as possible.
Can my partner join me?
If you would like your partner to join you, you will need to book two spots. I have cameras for you to borrow if you do not have two cameras or you are welcome to share a camera on the night.
Can we know more about the unique stars, nebulas and objects in my photograph?
Yes of course, on our night under the stars feel free to ask any questions you have about astronomy!
Do you have an age limit?
Many teenagers have joined a Masterclass and I teach from a beginners level. On the workshop I guide each person through the whole process.
What happens if it is overcast?
In the event of cloudy weather, our Masterclass will continue as planned where you will capture images of the night. Each Masterclass date has been planned on key specific dates aligning the Earth, Moon, Milky Way core and our foreground subject in advance. Weather forecasts are not predictable far in advance and by booking the Masterclass you are agreeing to the Masterclass weather policy outlined below.
