Star trails over Paddy's River Falls, New South Wales, Australia.
I was drawn to this waterfall by its mesmerizing cascade over basalt columns, forming a curtain of smoothly flowing water that plunged into the cauldron-like gorge below. The rhythmic roar of the falls added to its allure.
My visit to this picturesque waterfall was the first and only time I experienced its sheer brilliance in person. It was an impromptu trip that led me there, as I initially intended to photograph canola fields under the Milky Way. An incoming storm forced me to change plans, so I traveled 400km south in pursuit of clear skies.
This star trail image, spanning over four hours, reflects the Earth's rotation around its axis. Facing the south celestial pole, the trails form circles as the stars move from east to west, creating a captivating celestial display.
